Awful experience. Took my son for his graduation dinner. Entered at 6:10 and left at 7:20 with onky being served our drinks. Did not have any staff even come over after we ordered to let us know our food would be out. I could understand if it had of been a busy weekend, but it wasnt even all that busy.

If you're the kind of folk who like TV dinners and don't want to heat up your own for a change, this is the place for you. I had the chicken fried chicken. The gravy was oddly sweet. The steamed veggies hadn't been steamed so much as breathed warmly upon. The waitress asked if it was alright if there were green onions in the mashed potatoes. She meant long, un-chopped green onions, apparently. The waitresses were very nice and friendly but they seemed tired and stressed. This may be the kind of restaurant for someone else, but not for us.

There are 2 types of business people in the world and they're best depicted from the old movie 'It's a Wonderful Life". You have the unscrupulous manipulative person like "Old Man Potter" and then, the kind and greater good and people caring person like "George Bailey". Well twice now I have had a horrible experience at Kelsey's and the first we let slide and after 15 months we tried again to find it even worse. Were sat in the south side section with only 4 other people in this section( I have a photo as proof) and were told it's at least 35-40 minutes for dinner! It's 2 pm and dead in there and 35-40 minutes?? I went to explain that I needed to leave early and the horrible "know it all" waitress with an attitude cut me off with "there will be no favors to-day you'll be waiting at least 35 minutes or more". That's fine but we just waited 35-40 minutes for drinks and I end up with a cold coffee! We showed up just before 2 pm and had drinks at 2:35. Yes we do notice these things and a waitress who wastes time yacking is complained about when things go bad. ( I believe the drinks to have sat on the bar 20 minutes and it was again the waitress who ruined this or their coffee machine is garbage) The waitress who knows everything assured us it's just as long a wait everywhere else in town also. Oh really? So over all what our waitress was telling us was we'd be 1 hour and 10 minutes or more from arrival before seeing food.....with kids! Is this normal for any restaurant? I doubt because we've never experienced this. So when you seat people just tell them they'll be over an hour before seeing any food....and see them clear out and fast. What about bread, soup or appetizers if your kitchen is backed up(although the restaurant wasn't even half full). Instead the waitress scared us in asking for a straw. Great tactic because I cleared out! Anyway I left to get fast food and to get to work. Lastly when you look online I find reviews going back to 2004 as to how horrid the owner of Kelsey's is and how he doesn't care about staff or customers. His family if he has any must be proud of his wallet! That's all it's about correct? Money? I will not and never would support this establishment or his other restaurants but his business model is there will always be people to show up. Not decent caring people though! It would seem local merchants will not visit either as they have had the same experiences. Yet again Kingston has a population of 120,000 and he just does not care. Well.....spread the word. Best of luck "Tim" ....or should I say.....Potter! I have also heard that most foods are prepared with a microwave. I wonder if the board of health ever visits? Hmmm Or if they would release to the public just exactly what kind of food we are in fact getting and how it is prepared?! This all happened on the "Mother's Day" weekend on the Saturday and we thank you for ruining the day. As for the previous visit in Feb 2016.(I believe it was my Birthday) We sat in Kelsey's and froze to death. We sat and froze and so did several other tables. Are the waitresses not able to clue in that when people are dining and sitting with winter coats on that something is wrong? I asked that they turn off the ceiling fans and it improved somewhat. You waitresses may be running around and warm but your patrons who are sitting freezing are paying your salary. Again proper management and training and you would all clue in....right?
